Our Story

Venture was established in partnership with a sister company that specialises in maintenance and repairs of commercial catering equipment. With our team boasting a collective experience of nearly 100 years, encompassing design, project management, financial budgeting, and equipment installation, we have formed Venture to exclusively focus on designing and supplying cutting-edge, functional commercial catering kitchens tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. Our clientele includes the restaurant and hospitality sector, as well as public sectors such as hospitals, care homes, airports, children's day nurseries, schools and banqueting & bulk food production facilities.

Key Team Members 

Simon Hamnett

 

Our Principal Consultant, brings a wealth of experience to our team with 45 years of dedicated work in the private sector of the catering industry. Notably, he has contributed his expertise to government initiatives like Building Schools for the Future (2005), where he played a pivotal role in designing comprehensive catering facility guidelines for primary and secondary schools. Simon's extensive background and insights add significant value to our services and ensure that our clients benefit from his in-depth knowledge and industry acumen.Simon's key areas of expertise encompass various aspects of catering facility planning, including space planning, kitchen area planning, as well as servery and dining area planning. His profound knowledge extends to calculating servery and dining areas specifically tailored to the school sector. With Simon's expertise at our disposal, we ensure that our clients receive meticulous attention to detail and expert guidance in optimizing their catering spaces for optimal functionality and efficiency. He has worked alongside notable contractors such as Wynne Construction, Kingsley Healthcare and G F Tomlinson Group Ltd.  

Beth Sharp

 

Beth, a junior consultant, has made remarkable progress over the years. Her outstanding work ethic and focus on customer relations ensure our clients receive personalized attention. She consistently goes above and beyond, demonstrating dedication and building strong connections. Beth's commitment to learning and growth makes her an invaluable asset to our team.

Mike Davidson 

 

Our highly experienced Project Manager, brings 35 years of invaluable expertise in the catering industry to our team. Over the course of his career, Mike has successfully managed projects ranging from £20 thousand to £2.5 million across the private and hospitality sectors. His portfolio encompasses diverse projects such as nuclear power stations, nurseries, schools, hospitals, prisons, and hotels. With an impressive range of qualifications including NVQ Level 5 Site Supervisor and Projects Management, ILM Nuclear Power Site Management, and extensive knowledge in CDM (Construction Design and Management) and general building management, Mike possesses the necessary skills to oversee projects from inception to completion. His meticulous approach and proactive mindset ensure that every project is handled with utmost care and attention to detail. Mike takes great pride in providing a personal touch to our clients, offering comprehensive support and guidance throughout the building installation process. With Mike at the helm, our clients can trust in his commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Tom Ryan 

 

 

Tom has 12 years of experience in the Catering Industry, plays a crucial role in our team as a skilled professional proficient in utilizing design software such as AutoCAD. With his expertise, Tom ensures that all our designs are transformed from concepts into tangible plans on paper. In addition to his design responsibilities, Tom takes charge of equipment and fabrications procurement, guaranteeing that the specified equipment aligns perfectly with the intended application. His diligent approach ensures that the equipment is delivered to the site in a timely manner, whether it's individual items or part of a comprehensive scheme. With Tom's meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in design and procurement processes, we can confidently translate our clients' visions into practical and efficient solutions for their catering needs.
